Last Friday evening, I read my Christmas book, All the Colors Of Christmas (It’s on sale for $4.83, btw) , 3 times at a non-profit, after-school program here in Nashville. It was the ministry’s Christmas party and they used my book as the party’s theme and it was an honor to play a small part in their celebration.
Three different groups of kids gathered in circles around me and I had the joy of reading my book to them. I don’t believe I’ve ever read one of books 3 times out loud right in a row. As I read my book, I looked around the room at the faces of each of the kids. There were so many stories in that room.
One little girl sat down in the middle of the floor and when I said hello, she looked at me and said, “I don’t want to be here.”
