Nobody loves spanking their kids more than a lot of Christians do…
If you watched (or are trying to watch) Shiny Happy People, the 4-part documentary about The Duggar Family and the Bob Gothard cult now streaming on Amazon Prime, you likely experienced (or will at some point) at least a couple of moments when you feel anger or disgust or sadness. You might feel all of these things at once. And you might feel them multiple times.
Because friends, this documentary is a whole lot to take in. I wasn't surprised by any of the Duggar's secrets. But dang, many of their secrets definitely triggered me.
And for me, the part of the documentary that triggered me the most was when they discussed child discipline, spanking, and the breaking of a child's spirit.
Because I can relate to that part...
