What Are My Thoughts Regarding The Bible And Homosexuality...
As you might imagine, I've been asked this question (or a variation of it) many times in the last few years.
And it's most often asked by someone with the sincerest of intentions. It's usually a question from somebody who really hopes I have a good answer, one that will satisfy their internal turmoil, one that might calm their anxious minds about being gay.
Sometimes, the person who asks the question is playing a game of "gotcha theology," hoping I'm going to offer a few "heretical" words they might use as fodder against me.
And sometimes that kind of question has come from a friend or family member, trying their best to understand me or sometimes trying to get me to reopen the closet and hide inside.
For many of us who are LGBTQ+ people and raised up in church, this question in its various forms is a question that we sit with, that sits with us, that has haunted us, and sometimes killed us.
But yes, I do have thoughts.
